Exam Access Arrangements

The individual assessment takes approximately 45 minutes to complete and aims to identify any areas access arrangements are required, such as requiring extra time. The assessment is tailored to the student’s needs and can include tests for reading comprehension and reading speed, spelling, free writing, speed of processing, phonological processing, short-term/working memory and speed of working. The scores from the test remain on file as evidence for the exam board, the JCQ forms are completed and a one page AA report is written.

UK Schools may require access arrangements in bulk with many students tested on one day. This briefer assessment can include tests for reading speed, spelling, speed of working, speed of processing, phonological processing and short-term/working memory. These shorter access arrangement tests take about 20 to 30 minutes per student and an excel sheet noting all results is provided to the school along with the completion of JCQ Form 8.

NB: All Access Arrangements Assessments must be carried via a school request, with a completed JCQ Form 8 provided to us prior to assessment.
